Morning Service at Christ Church
A worship service is held in Christ Church every Sunday morning at 11.00am. These take different formats as shown below. You are very welcome to join us for any of these and please stay for tea/coffee afterwards so that we can meet you informally.
1st, 2nd and 4th Sundays in the month – Morning Worship at 11.00am. (Common Worship) . An informal service generally led by our lay worship team.
3rd Sunday in the month – Holy Communion at 11.00am (Common Worship). Usually celebrated with our minister, the Revd Leisa Potter.
There are no early morning services at Christ Church. Holy Communion (BCP) is celebrated at 8.00 am at St James’ Church, Yarmouth on the 4th Sunday of the month.
Joining with others
At certain key points in the church year, particularly those that do not fall on a Sunday such as Ash Wednesday and Ascension, we join with our brothers and sisters from All Saints Freshwater and St James Yarmouth for a combined service. Details of these will be published on this website and in the 3 parish magazines.
We also join with our friends from the other denominations in West Wight on a regular basis. A programme of services and events is drawn up each autumn for the year ahead. These include services to mark national initiatives such as The week of Prayer for Christian Unity and Christian Aid Week as well our annual Open Air outreach services in Yarmouth and Freshwater Bay. See Churches Together in West Wight for more information on our joint activities.
